Until now, travellers from India to Osaka have usually had to connect through hubs such as Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok or Hong Kong. A direct flight saves several hours and makes western Japan far more accessible for Indian tourists and business travellers.

    Why Osaka?

Osaka is Japan's third-largest city and the gateway to the Kansai region. It is famous for its street food, friendly atmosphere and easy access to some of Japan's most popular sights.

Top things to do in and around Osaka

    • Dotonbori: the neon-lit canal district known for takoyaki, okonomiyaki and street food.
    • Osaka Castle: a landmark surrounded by a large park, beautiful during spring cherry blossom season.
    • Universal Studios Japan: a major theme park popular with families.
    • Kyoto day trip: temples, shrines and traditional streets, under 30 minutes away by fast train.
    • Nara day trip: famous for its friendly deer and the giant Buddha at Todai-ji temple.
    • Kobe and Himeji: visit Kobe for its harbour and beef, and Himeji for one of Japan's finest original castles.

    Best time to visit

    • Late March to early April: cherry blossom season, the most popular and expensive time.
    • October to November: pleasant weather and autumn colours.
    • February: cold but less crowded, with good hotel deals; the new flights start right in this window.

    Travel tips for Indian visitors

    • Visa: Indian passport holders need a visa for Japan. Short-term tourist visas can be applied for through Japan's official channels, including an online eVISA option. Check the latest requirements before booking.
    • Getting around: trains are fast and punctual. Regional rail passes and IC cards make travel simple.
    • Vegetarian food: it can be harder to find, so research vegetarian and Indian restaurants in advance.
    • Cash and cards: cards are widely accepted, but carry some yen for small shops and temples.
    • Book early: new routes often have introductory fares, and cherry blossom season fills up fast.

Flight details are as announced in October 2026 and may change. Check visa rules and fares with official sources before booking.
